The growers are family owned farms based in Texas and certified organic by the Texas Department of Agriculture. We believe that an essential path to healthy living is through organic farming.

Organic farming eliminates contamination of the Earth by not using pesticides or fertilizers. This organic cotton is certified free of genetically modified organisms. Organic integrity is assured for each U.S. Department of Agriculture numbered bale by keeping organic cotton separate from conventional cotton during storage, spinning, weaving and finishing. All equipment is cleaned and washed before the organic cotton is processed. The cotton is not treated with formaldehyde, silicone, bleaches or softeners.

Less than 5% of the world's organic cotton is produced in the U.S.A. Twenty-four countries produce about 300,000 organic bales of cotton. India, Turkey, China and Pakistan produce the most. Buying U.S. Certified organic cotton encourages greater organic acreage and greatly reduces carbon emissions in transportation.

The Harvest Bag - Made in the U.S.A.

The cutting & sewing for The Harvest Bag is entirely done in the San Francisco Bay Area, supporting local employment.

When we looked for fabric cutters and sewers here in the Bay Area, we had a difficult time finding any.
